Construction for the Village’s annual Street Improvement Program (SIP) began on May 15 throughout Roselle. Nearly $775,000 is being spent on street improvements this year to resurface 2.7 miles of streets throughout the community that have been identified as being in poor or fair condition. The project is expected to be completed by July 21, weather permitting.
Additionally, water main replacement is being completed prior to street resurfacing on Lakeview Ct, Lexington Ave., York Ct., and Thorndale Ave. These projects are expected to be completed by July 21, weather permitting.
The SIP was expanded for last year and this year to improve more streets, following several years of street programs that were reduced in scope. The Village’s 2016 budget included an initiative to issue $2.4 million in limited tax bonds to fund the SIP for 2016 and 2017. More information, including updates on the progress of the construction, is available on the Street Improvement Program page.
