Application Procedures for Police Officers and Firefighters
The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners appoint successful applicants to the position of Police Officer and Firefighter. This selection process begins with a competitive testing program.
Candidates that successfully complete the testing process are listed and ranked according to the number of points earned. The list is good for two years from the date of posting. Police Officer Candidate Final Eligibility Register (September 30, 2015-September 29, 2017).
The Roselle Police Department holds open, competitive examinations bi-annually to establish lists of persons eligible for appointment to the position of entry level police officer. For the 2017 testing cycle, applications are available online through May 12. Application deadline is May 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
The Northwest Suburban Police Consortium, representing the Roselle, Morton Grove, Niles, Northbrook, Park Ridge, and Wheeling Police Departments, has posted a joint online job application.
